Liis erzählt von Menschen, die nicht wissen, wie man denkt, über die wundervollen Zeichnungen ihres Großvaters, über ihren Arbeitsplatz im Keller und wie an der Ostsee alles begann…

Liis talks about people who don’t know how to think. She talks about the beauty of her grandfather’s paintings, her job in the cellar and how everything started close to the Baltic sea…

Liis Vares, born in 1986 in Rakvere (Estonia), is a freelancer, choreographer, performer and teacher who has graduated Tartu University Viljandi Culture Academy Performing Arts Department in Dance Art in 2012. Liis doesn’t like to separate different forms in art nor in life. Instead she likes to transform them from one form to another. Space between opposite phenomena, hidden spaces, space in all terms is what triggers her and gives subtext to her doings. The essence of her work are the people with whom she is working with. In her teaching practice she is focused on improvisation and individual body experience. Her aim is to create and share spaces where everyone has a chance to learn, to wider and redefine ‚body‘ and ‚dance‘ in time again and again. She has experience in dancing with various bodies from different countries with unique abilities. Since 2014 she is a certified DanceAbility teacher (first in Estonia).
